Moving to Windsor Ontario?

Windsor Ontario Canada

Windsor waterfront view of Detroit

When you arrive in Windsor you will be surprised at how much there is to do.   We are surrounded by water and there are festivals and special events along the waterfront during the summer on most weekends.   Even if there is a festival taking place there is still lots of room for folks to rollerblade, bike or walk along the waterfront.   You can also enjoy Sandpoint Beach or the Ganatcho Trail further east and stop for an ice cream at the end of your trip.

If you are looking for a bit of culture we have a first class symphony and art gallery.   Across the Detroit River is the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Henry Ford Museum. The motown Museum.  We also have a waterpark for the kids, a science centre and lots of terrific restaurants.

Sports fans can enjoy The Windsor Spitfires, The Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Lions or the world class track located at Huron Church and College Avenue that hosted the Olympic Track and Field Trials.   The University also has several varsity teams allowing for plenty of entertainment.

For Seniors there are several Senior's Centres throughout the city.  We have also hosted the Senior's Games here.

Many are moving to Windsor Ontario, with EssexCounty cheaper housing and warmer climate, what have you got to lose!

Windsor is going through some major changes, to view what is going on in Windsor please watch this Youtube Video of the Windsor Essex Parkway.

 Windsor Ontario Weather

What you will enjoy most about Windsor weather is when your friends and relatives call from other parts of the country to complain about the snow you can say "We have grass here!"   We do get snow but we are definitely in the "banana belt" and often have much milder winters than other areas.   Windsor receives the least amount of snow in eastern and central Canada.

Summers can be hot and humid but again, head down to the river and enjoy the breezes.   Take a drive along the lake or take the ferry to Point Pelee.   Don't hide indoors!   Get out and enjoy Essex county!
